Send Open Chat Requests using Native Apps

Overview

Attendees will be able to send open chat requests directly from Brella's native iOS / Android apps.

• Until this feature is released, the native iOS / Android apps can only receive and engage with open chats from other attendees. Open chat requests can only be sent using the web app.

Impact on ongoing events

This release will impact any ongoing or upcoming events that have open chat enabled. Only attendees using Brella's native iOS or Android apps will be affected.

How it works

Native iOS / Android Apps: Attendees visit the profile of an interesting conversation partner to initiate an open chat

The profile displays two buttons — "Chat", and "Suggest Meeting". Previously, only the "Suggest Meeting" button was visible.

Native iOS / Android Apps: Attendees add a custom message and initiate a conversation

Tapping the "Chat" button will open up a new screen that allows the attendee to type in a customized introductory message and initiate the conversation by tapping the "Start the conversation!" button.
